NEW STAKE PRESIDENCIES

SHARE NEW STAKE PRESIDENCIES

Creations of stakes have been announced in Auckland, New Zealand; Benoni South Africa; Buckeye, Ariz.; Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Mexico City, Mexico.

Elder F. Arthur Kay of the First Quorum of the Seventy officiated Dec. 13 in creation of the Auckland New Zealand Tamaki Stake, which has a membership of 2,562.Elder Spencer H. Osborn of the First Quorum of the Seventy officiated in the Nov. 29 creation of the Benoni South Africa Stake, where there are about 1,900 members.

Elder H. Burke Peterson of the First Quorum of the Seventy officiated Dec. 13 in creation of the Buckeye Arizona Stake, in which there are 1,867 members.

The Idaho Falls Idaho Eagle Rock Stake was created Dec. 13, with Elder Richard G. Scott of the Presidency of the First Quorum of the Seventy officiating. There are about 2,700 members in this new stake.

The Mexico City Mexico Ecatepec Stake was created Dec. 6, with Elder Robert E. Wells of the First Quorum of the Seventy officiating. That stake has about 2,500 members.

Elsewhere, stakes were reorganized in Auckland, New Zealand; Clearfield, Utah; Mexico City, Mexico; Johannesburg, South Africa; Phoenix, Ariz.; Pretoria, South Africa; Quilpue, Chile; Rigby, Idaho; Savaii, Samoa; Staines, England; and Talca, Chile.

AUCKLAND NEW ZEALAND TAMAKI STAKE: (Dec. 13, 1987) Created by division of the Auckland New Zealand Manukau and Auckland New Zealand Manurewa stakes. President - Clark William Palmerston Larkins, 47, Church Educational System administrator, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop, and ward clerk. Counselors - Lini To'o, 57, waterside worker, stake patriarch; Moaseniatu Fonoti Sioli, production planner for wood panels manufacturer, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, and bishop.

BENONI SOUTH AFRICA STAKE: (Nov. 29, 1987) Created by division of the Johannesburg South Africa Stake. President - Jan Gysbert Hugo, 46, owner of store decorating business, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop, and high priests group leader. Counselors - Graham John Knowles, 29, marketing project supervisor for a mine, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, and Sunday School teacher; Peter Wainwright, 27, sales representative for tool company, former stake president's counselor, ward clerk, elders quorum president and ward Young Men president.

BUCKEYE ARIZONA STAKE: (Dec. 13, 1987) Created by division of the Phoenix Arizona West Maricopa Stake. President - Charles Roy Rucker, 41, real estate office manager, former bishop, ward Young Men president, ward mission leader. Counselors - Garry Taylor, 41, owner of roofing company, former stake clerk, bishop, and elders quorum president; Roger Warren Brown, 38, accountant, former high councilor, bishop and counselor, and counselor in Young Men presidency.

IDAHO FALLS IDAHO EAGLE ROCK STAKE: (Dec. 13, 1987) Created by division of the Idaho Falls Idaho West Stake. President - Michael Dean Crapo, 36, attorney, former stake and ward Young Men president, bishop, teachers and deacons quorum adviser. Counselors - Kent Wade Foster, 46, attorney, former high councilor, stake Sunday School president, bishop's counselor, and Sunday School teacher; Douglas Milo Andrus Jr., 46, part owner of transportation company, former stake mission president, stake Young Men president's counselor, bishop's counselor, and ward Young Men president.

MEXICO CITY MEXICO ECATEPEC STAKE: (Dec. 6, 1987) Created by division of the Mexico City Mexico Azteca and Mexico City Mexico Villa de Las Flores stakes.
