ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

AT the beginning of 1987, I challenged my Valiant A Primary class to read the New Testament.

To my amazement, Synthea Atkinson had read the New Testament along with the rest of the Standard Works of the Church by the end of June. Shortly after that, another class member and I completed reading the Standard Works. Each of the other five class members had read the New Testament and the Pearl of Great Price. Some had read parts of the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants. The class members were excited about their class and several gave extemporaneous talks in sharing time when other children who were assigned talks were absent. Their accomplishments show how much 8-year-olds can do.
