Bonneville Media Communications has earned two awards for Church-related television and video productions.
"America, the Dream Goes On," Bonneville's television special on the bicentennial of the U.S. Constitution, recently received a Silver Medal Award in the Popular Music and Variety category of the International Film and Television Festival of New York. Almost 4,000 entries were submitted for this year's festival.Produced by Stan Ferguson, the special features the Tabernacle Choir, and stars Harry Morgan, Marie Osmond and Gordon Jump. The one-hour special was nationally syndicated and broadcast in cities throughout the United States during September.
"Portrait of Polynesia," a 38-minute souvenir video recording produced for the Church's Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii, earned a Golden Eagle Award from the Council of International Non-theatrical Events (CINE). The award received at ceremonies in Washington, D.C., qualifies the production for entry in international festivals abroad.
Also produced by Ferguson, the video is a colorful glimpse of one of Hawaii's most poular tourist attractions. Its sales in Polynesian Cultural Center gift shops have been substantial since its release in April.
