A Utah corrections officer from Layton has been accused of pointing a gun at a motorist and was placed on administrative leave after criminal charges were filed.

Jackie Wayne Goode, 34, 1216 Nalder, is accused of harassing and threatening a motorist with a gun while driving on I-15 near 80th South on Sept. 25, according to charges signed by Midvale Justice Dee W. Alldredge.Goode is charged with assault, reckless driving, threatening with a dangerous weapon, carrying a loaded firearm in his vehicle and having no Utah registration on his vehicle. All of the charges are violations of Midvale's city ordinances.

Goode had not been served with the charges as of Friday afternoon, but is to be notified of a Nov. 30 arraignment on the charges, a court clerk said.
