The Utah Endowment for the Humanities is among seven state organizations sharing $350,000 in merit awards from the National Endowment for the Humanities, spokesman Delmont Oswald says.

Each of the seven winners, selected from among 26 candidates, will receive $50,000. The merit award is to reward the state agencies "for their overall programs" during the previous two years, said Oswald.Utah was cited for its speakers bureau of 20 scholars, "The Anasazi World" traveling exhibit on Native American history, the state's oral history project in Blanding and several folklore and anthology projects.
