The Defense Depot Ogden is setting an example for military installations and Department of Defense organizations with its child-care program.
The Depot's Child Development Center was featured in a Defense Department monthly news magazine, and has attracted attention from local businesses and federal agencies. Center manager Linda Izatt said most of the callers want to know how the center is organized."Children at the Center are involved in a seven-subject curriculum daily, . . . social studies, educational skills, understanding and development, arts and crafts, science, phonics and music," said Izatt. "I believe we are headed in the right direction in providing quality, affordable care."
The center is open weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. to children ages 2 to 6.
