The 1988-89 Music Arts season gets underway in Cedar City on Oct. 20, when the American Festival Ballet Company will perform "Cinderella." The company is sponsored by the Western States Performing Arts Tour, and is directed by Marius Zirra.
The Utah Symphony, conducted by Joseph Silverstein will perform on Nov. 16, and the Western Opera Theatre, the professional touring company of the San Francisco Opera Center, will bring Puccini's "Madame Butterfly" on Feb. 16.The season's fourth event will be the Salzburg Piano Duo, consisting of Susan Neumuller and George Kern, Americans who are both on the faculty of the Mozarteum in Salzburg. All events are in the Cedar High School Auditorium. Season tickets are available from members of the Music Arts Committee, or at the Music Store and Munson Music. Iron County students are admitted free when accompanied by an adult ticket holder, and SUSC activity cards serve as season tickets.
