An Afghan guerrilla leader said Monday the Soviet Union wants direct talks with the Moslem forces fighting the Moscow-backed Afghan government. Official Afghan radio said troops killed two Americans who were helping guerrillas.

"The green lights have been shown" for direct negotiations, said Burhanuddin Rabbani, current chairman of a seven-party Afghan guerrilla alliance headquartered in Peshawar, Pakistan."The negotiations and how they will happen will be seen in the future," Rabbani told reporters.
