The Yugoslavian Communist Party chief said the country must unite or face disaster and urged an end to unrest brought on by economic and ethnic problems. A popular Serbian leader backed dissent and urged decisive action. "All of us in this country are faced with a choice - either we all resolve the crisis together, or we all head to destruction," party chief Stipe Suvar told the party Central Committee on Monday. But Slobodan Milosevic, communist leader in Serbia, launched an impassioned defense of mass rallies that have fanned ethnic unrest and party disunity.
