A Salt Lake woman, assaulted and raped in her home Friday morning, suffered severe facial cuts when she jumped through her bedroom window to escape.
The woman, 24, told police that a man entered her home near 13th South and Fifth East through the back door and immediately began punching and hitting her in the face. The man forced her into a bedroom, where he tied her hands and threatened to kill her, a police report says.She said the man raped her. She finally was able to escape her attacker by jumping through a large bedroom window, shattering the glass, which cut her face.
The woman ran to a nearby home for assistance. She was taken to Holy Cross Hospital.
Police were unable to locate a suspect.
