For the second time in four months, a United Parcel Service driver has foiled the getaway of a suspected robber in the Denver area.

Police officer Gordon Madonna said UPS driver Jeff Pryor was stopped at a traffic light Thursday when he saw a man fleeing a jewelry store. Pryor jumped out of his truck, chased the man and held him until police could arrive, Madonna said. "Without the UPS guy, the (suspect) would have gotten away."Police in Mountain View expressed similar sentiments in June when another UPS driver, Tom Swartz, used his truck to ram a getaway car being used by three people who robbed a store. Swartz at first was threatened with disciplinary action by UPS but later was honored as a hero.
