A man accused of murdering his wife last year has been ordered to stand trial in 3rd District Court.
John J. Quas, 37 - who failed to show up for a hearing earlier this week - appeared Friday for a preliminary hearing, during which 3rd Circuit Judge Eleanor Van Sciver ruled there was sufficient evidence to support the second-degree murder charge.Quas is accused of shooting his wife, Susan Quas, 35, through the eye with a .44-caliber handgun on June 15, 1987.
He was charged that summer, but Van Sciver dismissed the charge in August 1987 because prosecutors failed to prove that it was not a suicide.
But prosecutors, saying they had new evidence and new findings on old evidence, refiled the charges last July.
