AIDS Project Utah's third annual benefit, "A Song For Life," scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday in Symphony Hall, has been canceled.
Project director Richard Starley said Friday that last-minute cancelations by scheduled performers and disappointing box office sales prompted the action."We just didn't get the community support that we were hoping for," Starley said, "and we don't have enough money to go ahead without it."
For weeks benefit organizers were promoting an event that would feature "the entire cast of ABC's `Mr. Belvedere' " program. But as of Thursday, only Ilene Graff and Rob Stone were going to make the trip to Salt Lake City.
Efforts to raise funds for AIDS Project Utah will continue, however, despite the cancellation. For more information about the project call 359-2438.
