Jack Lemmon was honored with the Ralph Bunche Peace Award for his efforts to promote human rights and world peace. The award, named for former the Nobel Peace Prize winner and presented by the Southern California chapter of the United Nations Association, was presented Friday at City Hall in Los Angeles. Lemmon says he likes to do movies with a point of view, such as "Missing," the story of a man looking for his son during politcal chaos in Chile. "Now and then I've been fortunate enough to be able to choose to be in material that goes beyond entertaining and can make people think about the dignity of man and the priorities of what is really important, ethically and morally, in our society," Lemmon, 63, said. "I don't think it's as important that people ever agree with the point of view of those films. What is important is making them think, when they might not have thought if they had not seen the film."
