A huge wave swept away 10 girls and two boys who were bathing during a religious festival in southern India, news reports said Tuesday. All were feared dead.

Those swept away Monday were among 15 girls and two boys went to bathe in the Bay of Bengal at Kalingapatnam, about 800 miiles southeast of New Delhi, the Press Trust of India news agency quoted a senior police official, K. Jagannadha Rao, as saying.The youths were between the ages of 11 and 18, the agency said. It gave no other details.
