A Garfield County man has been charged with theft of livestock for allegedly altering the brands of seven cows and calves and trying to pass them off as his own at an auction, authorities said Wednesday.
Marion Steed was charged with third-degree felony theft of livestock and faces an Oct. 26 arraignment in 6th District Court.If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to five years in prison and fined $5,000.
