Two men have been taken into custody following the fatal shooting of a truck driver Monday night at a rest stop on I-15 about 15 miles north of Beaver.
Sheriff's deputies from two southern Utah counties and the Utah Highway Patrol were still collecting evidence at the crime scene Tuesday morning.The Beaver County Sheriff's Department received a call at 8:52 p.m. Monday about a shooting at the Pine Creek Rest Area, said Beaver County sheriff's dispatcher Glenn Buffington.
Sevier County deputies, using information from a Beaver County radio bulletin, apprehended two men in their 20s as they left a cafe in Salina at 9:55 p.m. The men were being held in the Salina County Jail Tuesday morning, Buffington said.
The truck driver had apparently pulled into the rest stop to use the restroom. His name is being withheld until relatives can be notified.
