A transient was struck by a car and killed while walking near Pioneer Park, Salt Lake Police say.
Police Lt. Tom Brown said the man, whose name was not released, was walking across Third West at Fourth South when he was struck by a vehicle traveling east.No arrests were made in connection with the accident, which occurred about 8 p.m. Thursday, Brown said. The man, 62, died at the scene.
