Kerr-McGee, one of two companies in the U.S. that manufactures ammonium perchlorate for rocket fuel, is still about two weeks away from a relocation decision, a local government official said.

John Williams, director of the Five County Association of Governments in southern Utah, said Kerr-McGee, which has a plant in southern Nevada, is looking at five possible expansion sites, one in Utah.Originally, Iron county was a prime site, but because PEPCON, the only other plant that manufactures ammonium perchlorate, is building a facility there, Kerr-McGee officials are considering a Utah site near Milford instead.
