SHARE NEW SHIRLEY MACLAINE FILM TO BE PREMIERED AT A BACHAUER-MEDIA ARTS CENTER BENEFIT

"Madame Sousatzka," a new film starring Shirley Mac-Laine, will have a special premiere showing Wednesday to benefit the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition and the Utah Media Arts Center. Admission is $10.

The evening begins at 7:30 p.m. in Cineplex Odeon's Trolley Corners Theaters with a reception featuring winners of the Utah State Fair Piano Competition - Michael Minson, Provo; Tamami Homna, Logan; Lindy Johnson, Beaver Dam - followed by a screening of the film.The movie, directed by John Schlesinger ("Marathon Man," "Midnight Cowboy") and adapted from the novel by Ruth Prawer Jhabvala ("A Room With a View"), stars MacLaine as an eccentric piano teacher in England who takes a young Indian prodigy as a student and takes it upon herself to teach him live, act, think and speak, in addition to playing music.
