Austrian President Kurt Waldheim condemned Wednesday what he described as Israeli human rights violations against Palestinians in the occupied territories, the official news agency reported.
The Austrian leader, a former U.N. secretary-general who has been accused of taking part in war crimes as a former Nazi officer in the Balkans during World War II, is on an official visit to Kuwait.Waldheim was scheduled to leave for Ankara, Turkey, today.
"Austria strongly rejects the current Israeli practices against the Palestinian people in the occupied Arab territories," Waldheim told the official Kuwaiti News Agency in an interview.
