LOT and the official news agency PAP had earlier reported 16 people were killed when the Antonov AN-24, which took off from Warsaw, crashed short of its destination of Rzeszow, 190 miles southeast of the capital.A LOT spokesman said several passengers had apparently left the crash site in cars, leading authorities to initially presume they were dead. The lone fatality was identified as Weronika Szwed, a Polish citizen. Five people were hospitalized in Rzeszow or the nearby town of Lancut with serious injuries, the airline said.
