The death of Cedric Davern, 57, a University of Utah microbiologist and genetics researcher, has been ruled a suicide.
The state medical examiner has concluded that death came from poisoning by potassium cyanide, U. Police Chief Wayne Shepherd said Tuesday.Davern's body was found in his laboratory on Oct. 10. The autopsy found that he had died about 10 p.m. the day before, Shepherd said.
Shepherd said no note had been left, but suicide had been suspected from the onset of the investigation.
