The Oakland A's announced Tuesday they have elected not to exercise their option for 1989 on second baseman Glenn Hubbard's contract.

Sandy Alderson, the A's vice president for baseball operations, said the club is considering a number of options for next season at second base. "It is very possible that we will ask Glenn to return to the A's for the 1989 season," he said.Hubbard played in 105 games last season, hitting .255 with three homers and 33 RBI.
