Ellis Armstrong, former commissioner of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, will discuss "The Challenges to Engineers in Today's World" at a Brigham Young University lecture Nov. 3.
Armstrong will speak at 11 a.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center. His talk will be televised in the Joseph Smith Building Auditorium.An adjunct professor of civil engineering at the University of Utah, Armstrong is also an engineering consultant on energy and underground excavation.
He has served as the U.S. commissioner of Reclamation, as assistant regional director of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, and as a senior partner in Armstrong Associates, Engineers and Consultants, a firm that has supervised more than 400 engineering projects in the United States and abroad.
