A former Boy Scout leader accused of sexual abuse of a child, a second-degree felony, faces a Nov. 15 arraignment in 4th District Court in Provo.

Allen Washburn, 35, Orem, Tuesday waived his right to a preliminary hearing before Orem 4th Circuit Court Judge Robert Sumison and was bound over to district court.Defense attorney Wayne Watson said Washburn had waived his preliminary hearing as part of a plea bargain arrangement. A second charge of child sexual abuse against Washburn will be dropped as part of the deal.

The remaining charge stems from an alleged June incident involving a boy younger than 14.

Washburn also charged in the Spanish Fork 4th Circuit court with two counts of forcible sexual abuse of a child, stemming from an alleged Aug. 1 incident at Camp Maple Dell in Payson Canyon. He is accused of abusing two Scouts, ages 15 and 16, who worked on the staff.
