Official Radio Mozambique blamed the attack Wednesday and several other recent incidents on "forces inside South Africa" that are seeking to sabotage recent peace initiatives between Marxist-ruled Mozambique and minority white-ruled South Africa."South African bandits" opened fire on the train at 10 a.m. Wednesday between the towns of Moamba and Pessene, about 32 miles northwest of Maputo, after the train struck a landmine and came to a halt, the state-run news agency AIM reported.
