Iraq and Iran accused each other of blocking the release of an estimated 100,000 prisoners of war during a stormy third day of talks in Geneva aimed at reaching a permanent settlement to the Persian Gulf war. U.N. Secretary-General Javier Perez de Cuellar was expected to use his influence to help the two sides find a solution to the thorny POW issue when the U.N.-sponsored negotiations resume Thursday.
