The Utah County area will receive $98,264 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the area.

The selection was made by a national board of affiliates of national voluntary organizations and headed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The board's task was to distribute funds appropriated by Congress to help expand the capacity of food and shelter programs in high-need areas. United Way of America will provide the administrative staff and function as fiscal agent.A local board will determine how the funds are to be distributed among qualifying non-profit emergency food and shelter programs.

Organizations should apply by contacting the United Way of Utah County.
