Former Spring City Mayor Glen S. Osborne pleaded not guilty this week to 67 charges of theft stemming from allegations he stole $44,000 from an irrigation company where he had served as an executive, court officials said.
Osborne entered not guilty pleas to all charges during an arraignment in 6th District Court.Judge Don V. Tibbs scheduled the trial for Feb. 6, and set aside up to nine days for the proceedings.
Osborne is accused of stealing money from the Horseshoe Irrigation Co. Prosecutors say the thefts occurred between 1984 and 1987, while Osborne was serving as the company's secretary-treasurer.
