A rezoning, creation of a special improvement district, clarification of a subdivision ordinance definition, extension of one interlocal agreement and approval of another were among a potpourri of items addressed in a recent City Council session.
The council approved rezoning 13.5 acres of land located at 9620 S. 13th West from R-1.8 to R-2.5 to allow development of a subdivision by Jack Francisco. The change still leaves the area in a low-density housing zone but will allow one-third-acre lots instead of one-half-acre lots.A special improvement district on Fifth West at about 114th South was approved. The district is intended to fund installation of curbs, gutters and pavement on a 1,000-foot unimproved roadway. The council assured homeowners there will be no attempt to extend the road northward in the future.
The council approved extending an interlocal agreement regarding 911 service for the county. The extension allows until March 31, 1989, to complete work on a data base for the system.
A second interlocal agreement approval will allow city administrator Richard Warne to participate on the West Valley Highway Authority, a group formed by west-side cities to coordinate planning and monitor progress on the proposed road.
