Deposed Philippine president Ferdinand Marcos faces more medical tests after being hospitalized for what his aides have called congestive heart failure.

Marcos, 71, remained in guarded but stable condition late Sunday at St. Francis Medical Center, according to nursing supervisor Mildred Kim. Marcos contends he is too ill to travel to New York for arraignment on federal racketeering charges.Aides said Marcos suffered congestive heart failure after learning his eldest daughter, Imee Manotoc, was experiencing complications during childbirth in Morocco.
