Susan O'Donnell Flaim has been appointed director of communications and research for the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce by Fred S. Ball, president. She replaces Paula Randolph, who is moving to California.
Before the appointment, Flaim was manager of company, customer and subcontractor affairs for Hercules Aerospace and also has worked for Mountain Fuel Supply Co.A Salt Lake City native, Flaim has been active in the chamber, is chairwoman of the 1989 Women and Business Conference and is attending the 1988 session of Leadership Utah, a series of meetings acquainting business executives with various crucial issues.
She also has served as a company adviser for Utah Business Week, is a member of the executive board of the International Association of Business Communicators and a member of the Young Women's Christian Association Public Relations Advisory Committee.
Flaim graduated with honors from Westminster College with a bachelor's degree in mass communication and is working on her master's degree from Westminster.
