American Phil Mahre won his first Pro Tour race, emerging as the slalom champion in Sunday's competition.
"I really felt relaxed and calm," the former member of the US Ski team said. "I felt confident that if I skied to my ability that I would be in the winner's circle."Norwegian Torjus Berge took second, with Swiss Joerg Seiler coming in third.
Mahre came back from a disappointing performance Saturday in the super giant slaloms where he was knocked out of the competition in the first round.
He and twin Steve are among the best of America's alpine skiers. Steve Mahre made it to the quarterfinals Sunday on the 40-gate, two-bump course.
