The Steiner Corp., a Salt Lake-based linen supply and service company, once was known as American Linen Supply and company officials have decided to return to the former name.
George A. Steiner founded the company in 1889 under the name of American Linen Supply, but as the company became diversified, the name was changed to Steiner Corp., according to Steve Thornock, manager. The company will continue to distribute and service a wide range of industrial, commercial and institutional uniforms and textiles including towels, aprons, bed and table linens, dust control products and all types of uniforms and career apparel.
Thornock said the most visible change will be repainting the trucks, which have been seen along the Wasatch Front for many years delivering clean linens to a variety of companies.
