The second concert in the Governor's Artist Series was sponsored Tuesday by Robert and Caroline Madsen, left. With them are Ricklen Nobis, series music director, and Colleen and Gov. Norm Bangerter. The performance, "A Medieval Christmas Revels," was followed by a buffet supper. Four concerts spaced throughout the year benefit the Governor's Mansion Foundation. An ambient program of medieval Christmas music featured members of the Salt Lake Vocal Ensemble and an ensemble of instrumentalists from the Utah Symphony, led by Nobis. All proceeds from the well-supported musical events go toward needed improvements in or repairs to the mansion, which receives no public money for its maintenance. The musicians donated their services. Permanent co-chairmen for the series are Mary Kay Lazarus and Thomas L. Monson. Suzanne Patterson assisted with Tuesday's event.
