The mother of an asthmatic 9-year-old boy who died after paramedics refused to enter his Chicago Housing Authority apartment Wednesday filed a $120 million negligence suit against against the City of Chicago and the Chicago Fire Department.

Sharon Jarnagin, the mother of Carl Jarnagin, charged in the suit that paramedics sent to the Dearborn Homes housing development on Monday "willfully and wantonly refused to treat" her son.The suit also accused the paramedics of "abandoning (the boy) during a life-threatening circumstance."

Paramedics called to the apartment said eggs and rocks thrown at their van prevented them from reaching the dying boy's home. When they returned 25 minutes later, it was too late to save the child, officials said Tuesday.
