UP&L EARNINGS ROSE TO $2.44 PER SHARE

Utah Power & Light Co. reported earnings per share of $2.44 for the 11 months ended Nov. 30. Earnings for the like period last year were $2.12 per share. Earnings per share for the 12 months ended Nov. 30 were $2.71. Figures for 1988 are subject to audit.
