The mountain with a G on it can stay, but according to the City Council, the race car and the bucking bronco have got to go, at least as symbols of the city depicted on its logo.
Pleasant Grove City Mayor David Holdaway said it no longer makes sense for the city to have a logo that depicts car racing (which was discontinued at the city's rodeo grounds three years ago) or a bucking horse (symbolic of the Strawberry Days Rodeo, a once-a-year event)."I think we could come up with something more catchy, that reflects the city more," Holdaway said.
The council is offering a $50 reward to the person who can come up with a graphic logo that "reflects the unique nature of Pleasant Grove."
Entries should be submitted to the Pleasant Grove City Council, 70 S. First East, Pleasant Grove, UT 84062.
