Dooley announced Wednesday that he was stepping down after Georgia's Jan. 1 Gator Bowl game against Michigan State and that he also would resign as the school's athletic director early next year."Vince Dooley is one of the really fine coaches, as his outstanding record at Georgia appropriately attests," Paterno said Wednesday. "His teams always played with a discipline, a sense of sportsmanship and an enthusiasm that I think reflect the character of their head coach. Vince Dooley made Georgia football."
