The FBI has joined Provo police in their investigation of an armed bank robbery Wednesday afternoon in which a gunman made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said a man in his late 20s or early 30s entered Deseret Bank, 460 W. Eighth North, at 4:59 p.m., pulled a black-nosed semi-automatic pistol on tellers and demanded cash be placed in a brown paper bag. He escaped eastbound on foot.The clean-shaven robber, who had a nylon stocking over his face, has sandy brown hair, is about 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 250 pounds. He was wearing a navy blue cap and matching snow suit at the time of the robbery.
