Provo police say they have recovered a statue of Ronald McDonald, and the mascot of the worldwide McDonald's hamburger chain, missing from a local restaurant for nearly a week, is not much the worse for wear.
Both feet of the fiberglass and plastic statue are missing, but it is otherwise intact, authorities said.Three men in their early 20s, two of them believed to be Brigham Young University students, were arrested Wednesday. No charges had been filed as of late Thursday, a 4th Circuit Court official said.
The three were taken into custody following a tip from a police informant, authorities said.
The statue, valued at $1,700, was reported missing from in front of the McDonald's restaurant early Dec. 8. It had been bolted into the concrete at the McDonald's playland.
