A West Valley girl was in stable condition Friday evening in Pioneer Valley Hospital after being hit by a car Wednesday.

Ivette Quintero, 13, 3053 W. 35th South No. M-3, was crossing 35th South with a friend just before 4 p.m. Wednesday when she was hit by an older Volkswagen driven by a 20-year-old West Valley woman, according to a police report. A number of witnesses told officers the two girls ran into heavy traffic, trying to cross the street from north to south. The driver had no time to stop, they said, and officers did not issue her a citation.
