It's Dr. Lily Tomlin now. Tomlin went to Wayne State University, which is in her hometown of Detroit, from 1960 to 1962 and acted at the school's Bonstelle Theater, so the school blessed her with an honorary doctorate of fine arts. Jane Wagner, who wrote "The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe," which Tomlin is performing in Detroit now, is receiving an honorary doctorate in humane letters.
