The Utah County Sheriff's Department launched a sweep Thursday seeking to arrest or serve summonses on 33 adults and one juvenile on drug-related charges.
The suspects also face 27 burglary and two felony theft charges, said Deputy Gary Reed. The sweep began at 5 a.m., with 12 deputies involved in the operation. Detective Scott Carter called the sweep "very successful.
"We got most of the people we were looking for. The jail has been busy, booking in people left and right," Carter said.
Reed also called the sweep a success, although "we're still hunting for a few people and tying up a few loose ends."
Deputies sought to arrest 17 of the 34 suspects. The rest were to be served court summonses. Some suspects are also wanted by other counties.
