Justice William Brennan, the oldest member of the Supreme Court, was released Saturday from Bethesda Naval Hospital, less than a week after undergoing gall bladder surgery, the court said. Brennan, 82, who was admitted to the hospital Dec. 8 for treatment of what was first diagnosed as pneumonia, was released from the hospital at 10 a.m. EST, Supreme Court spokeswoman Toni House said. House said she did not know when Brennan planned to return to the Supreme Court but noted, "He was working in the hospital, and I'm sure he will continue working at home."
