On Dec. 19, single tickets for Utah Opera's "Marriage of Figaro," scheduled for five performances Jan. 19-29, will go on sale. They may be purchased at $10-$30, at the Utah Opera box office in the Capitol Theatre, 50 W. Second South, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays. For credit card sales, call (801) 533-6494. Miniseason tickets are also on sale, for both this production and the season finale, "Die Fledermaus," at a saving over single ticket prices.

"The Marriage of Figaro," a popular comedy by Mozart, will feature two sets of husband-and-wife singers. Jake Gardner will sing Figaro and his wife Cynthia Clarey will sing Cherubino, while Maryanne Telese plays Susannah, and her husband Stephen Lusmann will sing Count Almaviva. All but Lusmann will be making their Utah Opera debuts. Completing the cast will be Kay Paschal, another U.O. debutant, as the Countess, and Utah singers Diane Beesley, Dave Arnold, William Goeglein, Richard Keisker, Don Becker and Susan Deauvono.Stefan Minde will conduct the Utah Symphony, and Frans Boerlage returns as stage director. Regular staff members include Susan Memmott Allred, costumes; M. Kay Barrell, lighting; and Byron Dean Ryan, chorus preparation.
