A Sunday evening fire caused an estimated $52,000 damage to the house at 4967 S. Marilyn Drive (2260 East) but hurt no one because the family was away.

Salt Lake County Fire Capt. Larry Olsen said a neighbor across the street reported seeing flames about 10:15 p.m. and called the fire department."About one-fourth of the house was totally involved when we arrived," Olsen said. The fire took about five minutes to extinguish, "But we were there for about three hours cleaning up."

The occupants of the house were at a party when the fire broke out. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. "We're looking at the fireplace," as a cause, Olsen said.
