Constantine J. Skedros, a prominent educator and Greek Orthodox Church leader, has been appointed by Gov. Norm Bangerter to the governing committee for the Utah Endowment for the Humanities. The organization makes endowments and renders assistance for historical and cultural projects in Utah.
Skedros taught advanced history classes in the Salt Lake City School District and was a recipient of the "Outstanding Teacher Award." He has served as president of the Parish Council Greek Orthodox Community of Salt Lake City and is serving as vice president and official historian.
He is one of the founders of the Hellenic Cultural Association, a not-for-profit, non-affiliated organization devoted to preserving and promoting Hellenic history and culture in America.
