A Mapleton man who pleaded guilty Friday to aggravated sexual assault and aggravated burglary, first-degree felonies, will be sentenced Jan. 13.

Roger Giles, 32, entered the pleas Friday before 4th District Judge Ray M. Harding. A second charge of aggravated sexual assault was dropped in exchange for Giles' guilty pleas.The charges stem from an incident Oct. 14 in which a woman was raped by a man who broke into her home. Giles could receive two sentences of five years to life in the Utah State Prison.
